Visiting Japan? Know What Japan Airlines Has to Offer

Japan Airlines or JAL in short, is the largest airline company in Japan. It now operates in 206 airports in 35 countries and has several domestic flights in operations as well. Japan Airlines started its local business in the early 1950s. To boost its operations and performance in the industry, it merged with the second biggest airline in Japan, the Japan Air System (JAS) in 2002.

One of JAL’s corporate policies is to continuously improve its customer service. And to abide by that, the company came up with a number of state-of-the-art equipments in the past few years. One of those is the Skysleeper Solo which was first introduced in the First Class section of the Tokyo-New York flight. This new leather seat reclines like a bed with just one touch of a button. Each unit has a side table, compartment, reading lights, phone, and a built-in TV with controller. All of these features promise lasting comfort in the long flight ahead.

Another kind of seat that they introduced was the Shell Flat Seat, which was first seen in the Executive Class section of the Tokyo-London flight. Since a good plane seat is one of the major factors travelers look for in an airline, JAL makes sure that its passengers will definitely feel relaxed in their long flight with these new seats that it offers.

If a passenger needs to be updated with his work or business, it is possible with JAL’s on-board internet service. One can check his email or surf the internet with his own laptop. Also, should a passenger need a spare battery for his portable, JAL can also lend one provided that the battery is compatible with the model of the laptop. Should a passenger be traveling with a child or an infant, this airline also has some baby things available upon request. The flight attendant would be glad to provide toys, picture books, disposable diapers, and crib as long as the passenger reserves or requests for these items in advance.

How about the meals? Of course, the meal should not be forgotten as this is also one important thing passengers would consider in flying again with the same airline. Whether a guest is in economy, executive or first class, the meals that JAL serves are well prepared and delectable. Most of their meals are, of course, Japanese but they also have a Western style menu. There are also infant and child meals available for those traveling with kids. For those that have special dietary needs, a request for a different meal can be accommodated as long as arrangements are made at least 24 hours before departure. And just recently, JAL started offering a snack buffet which they call Sky Oasis. For those who want to help themselves with simple snacks and drinks, they can just go to the table and grab some chocolates, rice crackers and other food items.

As part of their good customer service, JAL also makes sure that every flight is safe and secure. Safety of the passengers is actually the airline’s main concern. JAL assures its passengers of a peaceful flight to their destination. JAL’s flights also adhere strictly to the schedule as they understand the importance of time to their guests.

Passengers can truly enjoy the experience of flying with this airline. From the captain to the cabin crews, JAL provides excellent service and truly pampers their guests. One can be assured of a comfortable, satisfying, and safe flight with Japan Airlines.
